Box Score

EAST STROUDSBURG -- Bloomsburg University saw its rally from an 18-point second deficit fall short in a 66-57 loss to East Stroudsburg in women's basketball action on Wednesday night.

Bloomsburg jumped out to a 15-10 lead after six and a half minutes of play with Colleen Kegerreis (Schuylkill Haven/Schuylkill Haven) scoring seven points and Kelly Joyce (Ashland/Cardinal Brennan) six. East Stroudsburg rallied using a 14-5 run to go out in front 24-19 after a layup from Jackie Yandrisevits with 5:35 to go in the half.

The Warriors, who led 30-26 at the break, broke open the game early in the second half going on a 14-4 run over the first four and a half minutes of play to lead by 18. After the Huskies chipped away and got the lead back down to 10, 44-34, on a pair of free throws from Joyce, the Warriors used a 10-2 run to once again lead by 18 with 8:01 to go.

Bloomsburg then came roaring back using a 15-2 run over the next four minutes to close the gap to five points, 56-51. Kelsey Gallagher (East Stroudsburg/East Stroudsburg South) provided the spark for the Huskies scoring eight of the team's 15 points in the rally. That would be as close as the Huskies would get though the rest of the way.

Gallagher scored a team-high 17 points in the loss, while Kegerreis scored 16 with Joyce scoring 13. DeAnna Rayam led the Warriors with 19 points.

With the loss, the Huskies fall to 8-8, 0-3 in the PSAC East. Bloomsburg will host Millersville on Saturday at 1 p.m.
